About National Careers Week
National Careers Week (NCW) is a one-week celebration of careers guidance and free resources in education across the UK. The aim is to provide a focus for careers guidance activity at an important stage in the academic calendar to help support young people develop awareness and excitement about their future pathways.
At Bolton Islamic Girls School, we participate in NCW by;
- Offering career guidance and information to students throughout the year, the school also has a careers programme called CEIAG.
- Including activities such as CV writing, personal statements, and interview techniques.
- Including videos, virtual talks and personal appearances from people from different careers.
- Reminding learners in all lessons what subject specific careers are available;
- Encourage parents to also have conversations with learners by exploring different careers in subjects using the links – English Career Links, Maths career Links, Biology Career Links, Chemistry Career Links, Physics Career Links, Computer Science Careers Link, Art Careers Link, RE Careers Links, Language Career Links, History Career Links.
Parents and students can also access the links below for resources from NCW. The resources and activities are available all year round so you can make any of your CEIAG / Careers activities come to life – whenever you do them.
