Bolton Islamic Girls School is an independent Muslim girl’s school which opened in 2012 through the demands and support of the Bolton Community. I was honoured to join this community effort and be a part of Bolton Islamic Girls School (BIGS) in 2014.
The aim of our school is to provide an environment where all pupils are guided and challenged to meet their full potential in a positive, caring, educational and Islamic learning environment. The basis of this is the Quran and Sunnah: this we set out to share with all our students, making it the inspiration of the daily life and work of the school. Central to this is the school core values and teaching of our Muslim faith which is provided for all.
BIGS has seven core values. Faith, Respect, Compassion upon creation, Self-reflection, Forgiveness, Hope and Honesty. These values have been carefully chosen by all stakeholders including children, parents, staff and governors. Our values underpin all that we do at BIGS and we explore these values in depth. During our collective worship, we aim to make these values central to everything we do at school and in life.
Respect is at the heart of everything we do. Respect for a culture of lifelong learning and its power to transform lives is our secret for success. Our curriculum is not only ambitious but it also embodies mutual respect, humanity and a passion for learning in every subject. All learners are encouraged to study courses which link to their future career aspirations, therefore building skills and knowledge for future learning and employment. We believe that planning for the future early helps success grow. Our ethos, shared with learners is to believe, achieve and you will succeed.
We work closely with parents and encourage continual dialogue between parents and teachers to ensure students receive the support they need to succeed.
Please remember us in your duas.
