Fantastic GCSE results again for BIGS!

BIGS is delighted to announce very pleasing GCSE results for 2017.

100% of learners achieved 5 A*-C/4-9 grades including English and Maths.

100% of learners achieved/exceeded expected target grades.

There are exceptional results of more than 100% A*-C (4-7) grades in English Literature, English Language, Mathematics, Science, Additional Science, Urdu, Arabic, Religious Studies.

This year’s GCSE pupils were the first to have their exams marked under the grading system of 9 to 1 in English and Maths, with nine being the highest mark and four being equivalent to C-grade.

In Bolton 61 per cent of pupils achieved at least a 4 in their English and Maths. The North West average was 62 per cent and the England average was 63.5 per cent. And 38.4 per cent achieved the higher 9-5 grades in English and Maths. The North West average was 39.9 per cent and in England it was 42.4 per cent. This placed Bolton fifth out of the ten Greater Manchester local authorities.

We are consequently delighted with our student’s results and would like to say well done and a big congratulations to all our learners. Your hard work and resilience has paid off.

In addition to their academic success this cohort of students were the first at BIGs to achieve an entry level diploma certificate in Aalima achieving exceptional results and understanding in Tazkiya, fiqh and Islamic history.
